Labuan is the main island of Malaysia. And most know this place as the offshore financial center offering international financial services since 1990. The size of this island is about 92square kilometers and it has a coast of 8 kilometers. Generally, this is a flat island with no mountains.

The maximum height on this is 85meters. In the past, British fleets used this area as a base to fight against pirate operations carried out in the ocean. And later used as a station for the submarine cables between Singapore and Hong Kong. During World War II, this island was occupied by Japanese armies and renamed as “Maida Island “.

There are several attractions and places of interest in Labuan.Like the military ceremonies which are held to memorize and respect the fallen heroes during World War II. This includes British, Australian, Indian, Sarawakian, Bruneian, North Borneo, and Empire troops.

And there is a memorial celebration of the surrender of the Japanese to the Australian forces in 1945. The Royal navy Coaling station is also located here. And the Labuan maritime museum is also another good place for tourists like to hang on. Labuan is the base for diving on the Cement wreck, the American wreck, the Australian wreck, and the blue water wreck.

The government of Malaysia is still in process of developing these facilities and making this is a much better place for tourists and visitors.
