It is the world’s largest wholesale fish market. It is situated near Tsukiji station Japan It has two parts that are the inner market and the outer market. In the inner market, all the sellers have licensed marketers .there are more than 800 licensed sellers there, and Auction and fish processing will be done at this inner market.

They mainly do wholesale business. On the outer market, they have no licensed sellers and it’s a mix of wholesale and retail sellers. The main thing they do is supply restaurants, groceries, and seafood. And there is a number of restaurants also operating in this outer market.

Anyway, It has all the facilities to handle any quantity or any size of fish without any problem since they are targeting big fish at all times. The market normally deals with more than 350 types of fish and every year they market more than 650,000 metric tons of fish they make a revenue of around USD 5 billion currently, and around 65,000 employees currently occupy this huge market.

If we search about the history of this market, it doesn’t go for a very long end since the construction of this market was completed in 1935. Recently this place has made some amendments to the building and other constructions since this place is growing day by day and the modern machines and equipment are used at this place.
