Nathan road is a road lined up with shops and restaurants. In the past, that means during the World War II period, this was known as the “Golden Mile”. It starts on the southern part of Kowloon junction and ends with Boundary Street in the north.

This is the very first road built in Kowloon and it was completed in 1861. during that period, the land was ceded to the United Kingdom and the road was called Robinson road.

To avoid confusion between Robinson Road and Hong Kong Island, the name of the road was changed to Nathan Road, in 1909. Earlier this road was a residential area with colonial-style houses and the oldest Anglican Church in Kowloon is also located here.

In1996 and 2008, there were two heavy fires broke out. In 1996 the fire killed more than 40 people and in 2008 it was 4. But to control the fire in 2008, more than 200 firefighters were involved.
